Merlin Productions, a local drama group, have raised about £48,000 for local charities, since forming in 2000, as they donate all of their proceeds to needy causes.

These have included Southend Hospital’s Building Blocks appeal, and Bosom Pals.

This time the beneficiaries will be the Scouts Association and Little Havens Children’s Hospice in Thundersley.

Ami says: “Merlin have members ranging in age from six to 60. We all take time out of our busy lives once or twice a year to put on an entertaining show in the hope of raising as much money for charity as possible. It’s not always easy, but it’s always great fun.”
