Detectives have appealed for information after two men were injured, one seriously, in an assault in Basildon.
The incident happened near McDonald’s on the Festival Leisure Park, at about 4.40am today.
The two victims, who are in their 20s and from east London, were walking across the car park when they were assaulted by three men.
It is believed there had been an earlier altercation between the two groups.
One of the victims was punched and fell unconscious to the ground with face and eye injuries. He is still receiving hospital treatment.
His friend was also punched and suffered cuts and a broken tooth but was not kept in hospital.
