SYNTH pop legends Heaven 17 will headline Bas 2013, Basildon’s annual tribute to their boys, Depeche Mode.

The event is in its third year, and has grown from a small-scale affair into a weekend of music, tours around the town and exhibitions dedicated to the Mode and the scene of the time.

This year they’ll add Depeche Mode’s Vince Clarke’s other outfit, Yazoo, and his musical partner in crime, Basildon’s Alison Moyet to their roster of music.

Taking place across various venues in Basildon in May, Bas 2013 will see Heaven 17 joined by the likes of Basildon band Electro Kill Machine, Glaswegian electro outfit Analog Angel, DJ duo Dpplgngrs and Depeche Mode tribute favourites Speak and Spell.

In previous years, the event has seen fans travel from all over the world – from as far afield as Japan and New Zealand as well as all over Europe – as followers of the Mode seek to visit their idols’ home town.

The event will coincide with Depeche Mode’s hotly-anticipated two nights at the O2 in London.

Bas 2013 will take place from May 25-27 across various venues. Earlybird tickets are on sale now until March 23 for £40, normal price tickets after March 23 will be £50. Visit basproductions.co.uk
