A FATHER is appealing for help after crooks broke into his shed and stole tools as well as his 12-year-old son’s bike.
Thieves took the items from David Wills’ back garden in Sandringham Road, Southchurch, overnight.
David, 40, said he hasn’t had the heart to tell his lad, Mathew , that the callous criminals took his prized mountain bike as well as several hundred pounds worth of tools.
He said: “Mathew will be really upset. I’m not going to tell him unless he asks, I think I’ll try to get him an identical bike.”
Among the items stolen was a DeWalt XRP drill, DeWalt XRP jigsaw, a screwdriver, ratchet spanner and socket set from Halfords, a Karcher BR 400 floor scrubber and two black B-Twin Rockrider mountain bikes - adult and child size.
David, who is a general nurse and runs his own company providing healthcare, said he hopes someone with information will come forward and help the police.
He said: “I have had the tools for a long while. Its the first nice set of tools I’ve had.
“They took the stuff over the fence at the back of the house. It does have a massive effect on you.”
The theft happened at some point between 11pm on Thursday, April 4 and 11.30am on Friday, April 5. Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
