Appeal after cyclist hits woman and rides away
POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a collision on Southend seafront which left a woman with a broken hip.
It comes after a pedestrian and a cyclist were involved in a collision near to the entrance of the Pier, in Western Esplanade, at about 1.40pm on Sunday June 9.
The pedestrian, a 56-year-old woman, remains in hospital.
Officers particularly want to hear from anyone who saw a white bicycle in the area at that time.
They would also like to speak with a man who is believed to have tried to stop the cyclist from riding away.
Anyone with information should contact Pc Dawn Senior, or her colleagues at the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, on 101.
