A MAN is facing prison after child porn was discovered on his home computer.

Police raided Raymond Robertson’s home, in Littlebury Green, Pitsea, on November 17 last year after they received reports he was in possession of extreme videos and images.

Officers seized his Apple Mac computer and laptop and found hundreds of pornographic photographs and films.

The haul included indecent images of girls aged between eight and 12.

These ranged from level one to level five, the most serious rating on the Copine Scale, which is used to measure the seriousness of child pornography images.

Officers also found extreme porn involving a horse and a dog. Discs labelled PTHC were also unearthed in the raid, which Robertson admitted in his police interview stood for “pre-teen hardcore.”

Robertson, 66, pleaded guilty to 16 sexual offences when he appeared before Basildon Magistrates Court.

Prosecutor Samantha Doyle said: “He said in interview he does not have a sexual interest in children, but in 1998 he faced a long custodial sentence for indecent assault and sexual intercourse with a child under 16.”

The convictions related to a girl who was 14 at the time. The latest 16 offences took place between April 2009 and November 2012.

Robertson admitted eight counts of making indecent photographs and movies of children, five counts of possessing extreme pornographic images involving animals, two counts of possessing indecent photographs and movies of children and possessing prohibited images of children.

He was released on unconditional bail and will next appear at Basildon Basildon Crown Court later this month for sentencing.

He was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register immediately as he pleaded guilty to the offences.
