BURGLARS tried to break into a house in Shoebury in the middle of the night.
Police are appealing for information after the attempted break-in at a house in Delaware Road on Monday, August 19.
Thieves tried to force the back door open but failed to get into the property.
The attempt was made sometime after midnight and the following morning.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour in the area overnight from Sunday 18 August to Monday 19 August.
They are also advising residents in the area to make sure their windows and doors are secured at night to prevent thieves gaining access.
Anyone with information about the attempted break-in is asked to call PC Paul Gutteridge at Southend Police Station on 101.
