A CRASH involving three cars is causing tailbacks on the A13.

The accident, which took place shortly before 2pm, happened between the Stanford-le-Hope turn off and the Basildon Five Bells interchange heading westbound.

The road is blocked, with traffic currently stationary and beginning to back up beyond the Five Bells junction.

At 3.30pm, it was reported the accident had been cleared and that traffic in the area was easing.

7th December 2013 on A13 I was with my cousin sister 2 kids 1 was 7 months and the other was 9 month old young boy 11 years old I saw the car get crashed front our car. I guess it was trying to over take us from the left lane to the middle lane because of the speed the driver collided to the right lane and crash.if our car was driving slow it would have effected us.the broken pieces jky and fallen on our car
