As the mother, widow and wife of biker boys, you You'dfeelbetterforkn
owingthat, are pretty dumb.

My first husband died on his bike and believe me I know the devastation an accident causes to the whole family. My son lost his father but has no choice but to ride his motorbike to work every day in the pouring rain to Laindon and back. They risk life and limb when they go out on them, and I worry every minute until they are safe home again.

No biker ever wants to come off, or get knocked off by ignorant car drivers. Any pothole, oil patch, drain cover, gravel or even some idiots throwing litter out of the car can cause a bike to skid.

I hope this young lad makes a speedy recovery. Xx

I hope he, and his bike, is ok.
Anyone riding a bike should check out these training courses.

I hope he's OK but some motorcyclists act like they have a death wish. I live next to a speed camera on this road and you'd be amazed how many if them speed up for the camera. I mean speed up so fast that the camera can't catch them.
It's like they are treating the roads like their own personal video game.

I dont think that's possible Lesley, Top Gear did a bit about that and proved you have to be doing 170+ mph to beat a speed camera.

Anyway, I wish the biker well and hope they recover quickly. Remember: Shiny Side Up.

I am said motorcyclist in this article. I take it a comment was removed from someone at the top as Madmumof5 has put together an amazing response.

I just wanted to thank everyone who helped me at the scene last night. I had the love and support of at least 5/6 people who I'd never met. Everyone helped me so much and kept me calm and warm. Especially the emergency crews who had a laugh and a joke and kept us laughing.

It was a genuine accident, these things happen and lucky enough I've come away with only bruises and swelling. The vehicle driver was so apologetic and was a rider himself so knew exactly how it felt.

Thank you to everyone who helped and all of your comments above.

I live down Hall Road and i am glad to hear the motorcyclist is making a recovery. But the concern for me is that this piece of road is increasingly becoming notorious for high speeds both cars and motorbikes, with no street lights and no safe paths or cycle paths to access hockley. Every weekend we have cars and bikes doing cicles round the roundabout making it even more slippery. When pulling right into my house i have twice been nearly smashed into by cars taking the roundabout at 30mph + and overtaking my indicating vehicle.
It is only a matter of time before there is a fatality.

Ah, you may be right. Not sure what they're up to then. They definitely speed up before the camera.

I'm very glad the motorcyclist was OK.

Do you mean filtering? The only people who undertake me are cyclists.

They're probably just being idiots, unfortunately bikers like that give the rest of us a bad name.
