Arrests after drugs bust

Echo: Arrests after drugs bust Arrests after drugs bust

THREE people have been arrested after cops uncovered a cannabis factory during a drugs bust.

Plain-clothed officers smashed down the front door of a house in Gifford Green, Pitsea, after a tip-off.

Inside, they found a back bedroom had been converted with powerful lighting and watering systems to help the plants grow.

Officers found 32 plants, which could have produced a cannabis yield worth £15,000 to £20,000.

A search of the property uncovered a machete on the tenants’ bedside table and chunks of cannabis being dried out in kitchen cupboards and in the same room as a child’s toys.

Aman and a woman were arrested at the four-bedroom rented house.

While police were collecting evidence, a second man arrived in a rented van containing hydroponics equipment, which can be used for growing cannabis.

He was also arrested.

All three people have been released on bail until April 9.

Sgt Ben Woollard, who led the operation, said: “As always, information from the community led us to this address. Essex Police will act on information to rid communities of all forms of drug activity.”

Cannabis might well be legal in Colorado, but so is carrying a loaded AK47 assault rifle on the street. You cannot have beer in the passenger compartment of your car though, even if it is unopened. It must stay in the 'trunk', locked. But you can have a .357 Magnum on the passenger seat ready for use, should you so wish.

And these are the lawmakers you are claiming to be enlightened?

FACT OF THE DAY ..

so strict prohibition of cannabis has failed in Italy.

A law equating heroin with cannabis has been struck down in Italy, in a decision that may see 10,000 released from prison.

The country’s constitutional court ruled the law was “illegitimate”, without giving further details.

According to prison rights group Antigone, 40 per cent of all inmates in Italian prisons were serving sentences for drug crimes.

Italian jails are the most crowded in the European Union, with around 62,000 detainees held in cells built for fewer than 48,000, official data states.

senator Carlo Giovanardi, one of the original architects of the stricter law, said the ruling was a “devastating choice from a scientific viewpoint and in the message it sends to young people that some drugs are less dangerous than others”.

The utter stupidity of those who support prohibition and legislate is outstanding; of course some drugs are less dangerous than others, that is the point of the statutory classification ....if classification of drugs that killed and caused the most is equitable and non hypocritical then Alcohol , Nicotine, prescription drugs would all be illegal...but they have a social and medicinal place in our society.............
.the same as cannabis and this has been the case for thousands of years...Strict Prohibition does not prevent the use of Cannabis ; it is only the Criminals that benefit from Prohibition but those idiotic legislators and supporters of incarceration do not care and they follow........

how can an prohibitionist antagonise me-all of these inane posts, following me around- just shows for all to see that there remains people with the inability to accept change for the better, these people cause more harm to society than one of the safest drugs known to man...in time the law will change in this country just like it has in others....

I do not believe the above was a point of debate with those who follow my every word. I don't debate with self confessed antagonists ;simply provide FACTS rather than react with smoke(no pun) and mirrors; until the next echo story;

"Antagonism is a type of behavior that purposefully puts you in a hostile or combative situation with other people. If you find yourself antagonizing others, either in a professional or personal setting, it could be because you are afraid of something.

Maybe you are afraid of losing control, of looking inadequate or inferior, or perhaps you fear getting emotionally close with another person. It can be used as a defense mechanism that will keep distance between you and other people. If you antagonize others, you probably engage in manipulation, deceit, aggression, and attention seeking behavior

Many antagonists have a problem developing and maintaining relationships. If you recognize this quality in yourself, figure out where it comes from, what you are afraid of, and how you can overcome it so you can live a happy and productive life"
