A TEENAGER has appeared in court in connection with the death of another youth at a Grays flat.
No charges were put to 18-year-old Lewis Daynes when he appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court and the case was adjourned until April.
Daynes, Rosebery Road, Grays, has been charged with the murder of 14-year-old Breck Bednar.
The teenager from Caterham in Surrey was found in a Rosebery Road flat on February 17 and despite efforts to save his life, paramedics declared him dead at the scene.
Daynes, wearing a light brown top and dark trousers spoke only once to confirm his name during the five minute hearing.
The computer engineer will return to court on April 24 for a plea and case management hearing and was remanded in custody until then.
There was no application for bail.

Today, the family of Breck Bednar have paid tribute to him and say they will set up a fund in his name.
They said: "In lieu of flowers and other gifts, a family fund will be established in Breck's memory to support computer literacy, a cause which was close to his heart. For information on contributing, please email firstname.lastname@example.org."
