HUNDREDS of pounds in cash was stolen from a home after thieves smashed their way through the conservatory.

The burglary occurred at Hart Road, Benfleet, between 4pm and 11.15pm on February 26 after thieves smashed a window in the conservatory before forcing a window into the kitchen.

The house was ransacked and jewellery, including several gold wristwatches and a silver fob watch were taken as well as several hundred pounds in cash.

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity or has information about the burglary should call Det Sgt Paul Gutteridge at Southend CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
