Nigel Quashie is likely to make his West Ham debut in Saturday's vital Premiership clash with Fulham at Upton Park.
The Hammers continued their new year's spending by signing Scottish international midfielder Quashie late on Monday evening.
The 28-year-old has joined the Irons on a £1.5million three and a half year deal from Championship high-fliers West Bromwich Albion.
The fee could rise to £1.75million should the Hammers stay up or be promoted within the length of his contract.
"I'm delighted that the deal has now been done and it feels great to be a West Ham player," said Quashie.
"I'm now looking forward to being a part, getting out on the pitch and getting my foot in to try and help us out of this position."
