A DRUNK man had to be rescued after he swam in the sea.
The coastguard was asked to intervene after the man got hypothermia after his dip at Chalkwell Explanade, Southend, on Saturday at 4.39pm.
Southend Coastguard Team attended and helped the man to shore before he was taken to hospital by ambulance.
