  • "The heck was she doing on the roof? lol.
Must have been awful for her though, especially if she was up there a while.
I remember when I used to bunk school a lot and If I left my key at home, I'd climb onto the roof above the kitchen and get in through my bedroom window, it was easy getting up, but I couldn't get down and one day I did that, some f**ker had locked my window, was stuck sitting up there for around 6 hours till my mum got home, was by far the most boring day of my life, as we didn't have mobiles with all the cool apps back then. :("

Echo: Little girl 30ft up on roof Little girl 30ft up on roof

A TEN-YEAR-OLD girl was rescued after climbing onto the roof of a house.

Firefighters using an aerial ladder platform rescued the girl from a 30ft drop in Station Avenue, Wickford, at about 6.30pm yesterday.

The specialist equipment was brought from Southend and firefighters in harnesses climbed onto the roof to save the girl.

Leading firefighter Mick Thorne(CORR), of Southend Fire Station, said: “Once we got her she seemed quite calm.

“It’s just what we do. It was a good rescue and a good outcome.”
