A DRUG dealer has been warned he could face jail for dealing heroin on the streets of Basildon.
Ade Bakinson, 22, of Glenmere, Vange, admitted one count of possession of the class A drug with intent to supply when he appeared at Basildon Crown Court on Monday.
The court heard he was stopped by police officers in the town in January 2013.
Bakinson ran away from officers, but was caught and in the struggle he tried to swallow three packets of heroin diamorphine weighing a total of 0.4g.
Police recovered the drugs from him along with about £500 in cash.
The court heard how Bakinson was dealing drugs in order to support his own drug habit.
However, since the birth of his son, who is now two years old, he had reduced his habit.
Judge Graham agreed to adjourn sentencing for four weeks while the probation service prepare pre-sentence reports.
He said: “You have pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a class A drug with intent to supply.
“You will be given credit for an early guilty plea.
“The maximum sentence for this offence is one of two years in prison.
“However, I will adjourn this case for a pre-sentence report so the court can get the fullest information about you.”
