CHILDREN are set to benefit aftera £10,000 sensory room was opened.
John Baron, MP for Basildon and Billericay, launched the room at Buttsbury Pre-School after he supported its funding application.
It secured £1,500 funding from car company Ford, £1,900 from the Co-operative Trust, hundreds of pounds from two anonymous donors and put in a further £6,000 itself.
Mr Baron said it was a fantastic facility. “The whole pre-school team, together with the Co-operative Trust and the Ford Britain Trust, deserve our congratulations. It’s been a great team effort.”
Ruth Havis, treasurer and trustee of the pre-school, said: “Until now there has been no sensory room facility available in Billericay. Children with additional needs and their families had to travel to Brentwood or Pitsea.
“We are delighted Mr Baron was able to find time to attend.”
