OOMPA Loompas, children and adults enjoyed a night watching Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory on a giant outdoor screen.
Hundreds went along to Basildon’s Festival Leisure Park, off Chester Hall Lane, to enjoy the Gene Wilder film on the big outdoor screen.
Enjoying food and drink outside, two Oompa Loompas made sure the weather did not dampen the filmgoers’ visit and a sign-language expert signed the entire film.
Peter Scopes, site manager, said: “Great films, great food and raising money for charity, to me seems like a perfect night out.”
The night, which included a screening of Grease, saw ticket money donated to the Essex Deaf Children’s Society and Macmillan Nurses.
Lucy Martin, from Essex Deaf Children’s Society, said: “We were over the moon when Festival Leisure Park chose the Essex Deaf Children’s Society as its charity.”
