TWO generations of musicians will join together for a special reunion.

Southend Youth Symphonic Windband, who performed in the 1990s with musical director Colin Waller, will be on the bill with the current Southend Youth Concert Band and their director Tony Orchover.

In its heyday, the Symphonic boasted 60 members from schools across Southend.

Now, 15 years on and still in touch thanks to Facebook, the group are reuniting for a concert at the Crowstone Christian Centre, Crowstone Road in Westcliff.

Mr Waller, who now lives in Devon, said: “It’s going to be a great event with us taking over the second half.

“We have kept in touch over the years through Facebook and thought a good way to mark my 60th would be to hold a reunion.”

The event begins at 3pm on Saturday.

Tickets are available on the the door, priced £8.
