A RESPITE care centre in Leigh celebrated its tenth anniversary with a tea party.
Christopher’s Cottage, inMountdale Gardens, is a six-bed care centre and sports hall for children and young adults with learning disabilities.
It was set up thanks to the hard work of Tom Wilson – a former headteacher at the St Christopher School next door – and fundraisers from Mencap.
Mr Wilson was at the celebration with children who had previously been cared for at the centre.
St Christopher headteacher Jackie Mullan said: “It was a lovely day, enjoyed by all.
“Centre manager Debbie Lefever and her staff put on a brilliant day. We had about 110 people there and it was nice to see so many former residents.”
