A TEENAGE girl has chopped off 20 inches of her hair for charity.

Riley Pergolis-Carpenter, 15, donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust – a charity that makes real hair wigs for children who have lost their hair through chemotherapy.

Riley, a Year 10 pupil at St Bernard’s High School, Westcliff, took the plunge on Saturday with Our Lady of Canvey priest, Father James Mackay, doing the cut at the summer fete.

Riley’s proud mum Joanne, 39, said: “Riley had been talking about how there was so much pressure on teenage girls to look a certain way and she decided to cut her hair.

“She thought what better way to help other children than this.”
