ALL things maritime will be celebrated in Leigh later this month.
The inaugural Leigh Maritime Festival, a rebranding of the previously popular Fishing Festival last held in 2012, will encompass all aspects of life on the estuary.
Organised by Leigh Town Council, the event begins at 11am on Sunday, July 27, with a wealth of displays and exhibits throughout the old town, as well as photographic and art exhibitions and a variety of moored vessels on display.
Entertainment on offer from 11.30am will include a pirate party hour on Strand Wharf, the designated kids’ zone, as well as Punch and Judy shows and maritime storytelling.
The Salvation Army is also hosting a Family Fun Day on Saturday, July 26, in Leigh Library Gardens.
