A SCHOOLBOY who ran more than 12 miles in memory of a friend has raised £450.
Taylor Downes, 11, a pupil at Leigh Beck Junior School, Canvey, ran 12.6miles for the Danny Green Fund on Monday.
Setting off with his dad, he returned two hours later to cheers from friends and teachers.
The Danny Green Fund was set up in memory of Danny Green, 11, who died in July 2012 of brain and spinal cancer to help young sufferers of the condition he had – posterior fossa syndrome, which can leave sufferers with a loss of speech and an inability to hold up their head or walk.
A keen sportsman Taylor, who went to school with Danny, was back home playing football after completing the challenge.
