THE annual Old Leigh Regatta has been cancelled due to a lack of volunteers.
Scheduled for the weekend of the September 13 and 14, the Regatta was a charity event held to raise funds for the Leigh scout community.
Old Leigh High Street closed each year for the event, which included the annual scout pentathlon, live music, morris dancing and cockle eating competitions.
The Echo has been told by organisers this year's event has been shelved due to a lack of people coming forward to help out.
