ELEVEN members of the 1st Laindon Girls’ Brigade raised £25 for cancer research with a charity sleepover.

Captain Debbie Trower said: “All of the girls had a fantastic time, playing traditional party games and doing party dances until midnight.

“It was the first time some of the girls had slept away from home, so it was a great experience for them. A couple of them were so excited because they had never stayed up that late before. We also watched a film and learnt a new song for church the next morning. Even though we hardly had any sleep, the girls did really well.”

If you are interested in joining the Girls’ Brigade, which meets on Mondays at Laindon Baptist Church, Langdon Hills, contact Debbie Trower on 01268 413665 in term time.
