CASTLE Point has been named the worst place for people to get on the first rung of the housing ladder.
Homeless charity Shelter said almost 45 per cent of 20 to 34-year-olds in the borough were unable to get on the property ladder.
The charity's research shows it is the worst place in the UK.
Basildon was ranked 93rd with 30 per cent at home, with Southend coming 213 with 26 per cent.
