A STAMP-COLLECTING fundraiser is ready to be blindfolded to take part in a sponsored walk.

Terri Bush, 46, of Bowers Road, Benfleet, has collected stamps for charity for 21 years and is marking the occasion by taking part in the sponsored walk, which is being organised by George Stanbrook-Evans’s parents.

George, five, from Basildon, is blind after being born 16 weeks premature, weighing only one pound 12 ounces.

The event will pair fundraisers together. One will be blindfolded while the other will act as their guide to navigate the one-mile course.

The aim is to raise money for the RNIB as well as giving fundraisers an understanding of what it’s like to be blind.

Mrs Bush, who has raised more than £20,000 for the RNIB over the years, is determined to keep collecting.

She said: “I’ve been raising money for so long, but I have always had my sight.

“I met George and I just don’t know how he does it, so I thought I would take part in this year’s walk. It should be a good experience and a real challenge.”
