A TEENAGER was left with a black eye and facial injuries after taking a walk down a quiet village street.
The 18 year-old decided to go for a stroll in Church End Lane, Runwell, in the direction of Swan Lane, to clear his head after spending the day at a wedding in the village.
The young man then blacked out, and the next thing he clearly remembers is being back at the wedding venue with a grazed head and a black eye.
His wallet was also no longer in his pocket.
Police are appealing for information from anyone who may know how he got his injuries.
There is a possibility the teenager had been involved in a fight between 10.30pm and 11.30pm on Saturday, September 6.
PC Dan Smith, from Essex Police, said: "The man has some recollection of meeting some other people while he was out and that he may have been involved in a fight but cannot recall any other details.
At this point I am trying to establish if any crime occurred and if anyone has any information which could assist my enquiries I would like to hear from them. They can call me at Chelmsford Police Station on 101."
