COMMUTERS face a difficult journey home after this evening's rush hour trains on the c2c line between London Fenchurch Street and Shoeburyness were cancelled. 

Due to the ongoing signal failure between West Ham and Limehouse on the London-bound track, less trains can run.

The following departures from London have been cancelled:

  • 16:30 Fenchurch Street-Laindon,
  • 16:48 Fenchurch Street-Laindon,
  • 17:07 Fenchurch Street-Laindon,
  • 17:15 Fenchurch Street-Shoeburyness,
  • 17:23 Fenchurch Street-Laindon,
  • 17:30 Fenchurch Street-Shoeburyness,
  • 17:37 Fenchurch Street-Laindon,
  • 18:00 Fenchurch Street-Shoeburyness,
  • 18:06 Fenchurch Street-Shoeburyness,
  • 18:21 Fenchurch Street-Shoeburyness,
  • 18:46 Fenchurch Street-Shoeburyness.

The 17:47 Fenchurch Street-Grays via Ockendon will start from Upminster.

The 17:56 Fenchurch Street-Shoeburyness via Rainham/Tilbury will start from Barking.

The 19:05 Fenchurch Street-Shoeburyness via Basildon will start from Barking.

Other trains will make additional stops to help customers to complete their journey.

This is the third night in a row commuters have faced delays. c2c managing director Julian Drury apologised to commuters for the "awful service" and delays.

Network Rail engineers have been working through the night but have been unable to fix the problem.
