Bromley 5-0 Grays Athletic
FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round replay
GRAYS Athletic crashed out of the FA Cup after a 5-0 replay defeat at the hands of Conference South promotion hopefuls Bromley.
Jody Brown’s men had drawn 0-0 at Millfield on Saturday but were totally outclassed by their opponents on Tuesday night.
Freddie Ladapo missed a late penalty to compound the visitors’ misery.
Bromley took the lead when Reece Prestedge headed home from a Louis Dennis corner but Joao Carlos was denied up the other end soon after.
The hosts had a fantastic chance to double their lead when Grays goal keeper Conor Gough felled Pierre Joseph-Dubois in the box.
The penalty was given but Gough was not dismissed, with Jordan Roberston stepping up to slot home.
That was how it stayed until the break although Ladapo was unlucky not to reduce arrears with Bromley keeper Seb Brown making a superb save.
Adam Bailey-Dennis made it 3-0 from a corner before Duncan Culley bundled home, after superb link-up play between Dennis and Adam Birchall.
Dennis deservedly got himself on the score sheet to complete the rout before Ladapo won a penalty only to see Brown tip it wide.
Grays: Gough, Best, Siva, Zefara (Marfo), Parry, Leader, Bentley, Beaney (Wilson), Guy (Bryant), Ladapo, Carlos
