DOG walker-turned-singer Hollie Barrie returns to our screens tonight as she competes for her place in the Voice.
The budding star, from Ramsden Bellhouse, will celebrate her 31st birthday by watching herself fight it out in the battle round.
All four judges turned their chairs for Hollie in the blind auditions, but she chose hip hop producer and performer Will.i.am. She feared she would be put up against friend and fellow Essex girl Brooklyn Lammiman, 19, from Basildon – but the Towie boutique worker fought for her place live last weekend.
Despite the battle rounds being filmed in advance, Hollie is keeping tight-lipped about whether she will following in Brooklyn’s successful footsteps.
Hollie flew back to Britain less than 24 hours after marrying husband Mike, 38, in Grenada – cutting her honeymoon short by four days.
She said: “I flew back by myself, leaving all my family and friends in Grenada. I knew I was just going to be coming home to a whirlwind, so there was no point them cutting their holiday short.
“The hardest part about this has been keeping quiet about the result. I’ve never been a good liar, so I think anyone who knows me well has probably been able to guess.”
The Voice is on BBC One from 7.30pm.
