A WESTCLIFF road was closed this morning due to an overturned car.
Paramedics and firefighters were called shortly after 10am to the crash on Hobleythick Lane.
One man was trapped after a car rolled onto its roof.
Firefighters cut the man, in his seventies, out of the car and the ambulance service took him to Southend Hospital.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "We were called at 10.12am to a man in his seventies. He had cuts and bruises and no other obvious injuries but he had been upside down after the car went on its roof.
"He was taken to hospital for further checks."
Hobleythick Lane is closed for its entire length.
The road was closed between Prittlewell Chase and Prince Avenue A127.
