THE Blue Army is on its way north ready to cheer Southend United on to glory in their promotion decider at Morecambe today.
Close to 2,500 Shrimpers fans are making the 280-mile journey from the Essex seaside to the North West coast, with many leaving at dawn.
Buses and hundreds of cars full of Blues fans have been a visible presence up the M6 while other supporters have taken the train north.
Some fans have even boarded the plane specially chartered by Southend United which has flown from Southend Airport to Manchester.
Their celebrity fans have also been taking to Twitter to show their backing to the Blues.
Singer Alison Moyet said: "Thinking of my buddies Morecambe bound. COME ON BLUE ARMY!
"Send my old man home laughing like a loon."
Former England international turned radio presenter Stan Collymore, who played for Blues during the Nineties said: "Good luck to @SUFCRootsHall at the weekend.
"UP THE SHRIMPERS".
If Southend beat Morecambe today they are guaranteed promotion to League One.
