POLICE are investigating a spate of five burglaries on Canvey.
Two houses in The Weald, one in Ferrymead, one in Central Avenue, and one in Brindles were all broken into overnight.
On each occassion entry was gained via the front door.
The suspect is described as a white man, aged in his mid 20s, of slim build, and 5ft 9ins to 6ft tall.
He was disturbed by a number of the occupants and made off empty handed in the majority of cases.
Money was stolen from Central Avenue and car keys stolen from Ferrymead.
Residents on Canvey are advised to remain vigilant and ensure their properties are secure at all times.
