A woman is currently being rushed to hospital with 'potentially life threatening injuries' after crashing her Bentley into a tree.
Thorpe Hall Avenue, in Thorpe Bay, has been closed following the smash, near Willingale Way.
The air ambulance was scrambled to the scene but wasn't needed as the 34-year-old patient was rushed to Royal London Hospital in a serious condition via land ambulance.
Police, ambulance, and the fire service are at the scene.
An Essex police spokeswoman said: "Police are currently at the scene involving a crash in Thorpe Hall Avenue. We were called at 9am this morning to a report that a red Bentley had been in collision with a tree.
"No other vehicles are believed to be involved. A 34-year-old woman driver has been taken to hospital in a serious and potentially life-threatening condition."
Witnesses are asked to call 101.
