STAFF at a bird of prey centre are celebrating the arrival of a new baby owl.
The new baby Eurasian eagle owl has arrived at the Imperial Bird of Prey Academy, at Barleylands Farm, in Billericay.
The owlet is three weeks old and is yet to be named, with the team welcoming name suggestions on their Facebook page.
They believe she is a female, but cannot be sure until she is fully grown in around two months.
The Eurasian eagle owl is the largest species of owl and is found across Europe and Asia, where it can catch prey as large as foxes and small deer.
Angela Ryan, a partner at the centre, said: “She’s been a great hit on our owl experience days. Personally, I think it’s really exciting to have a new addition. It’s always great to have new birds to fly here and also to work with birds from a very young age.”
