HUNDREDS of people turned out for the Thorpe Bay Extravaganza.
The Thorpe Bay Rotary Club organised the event, which supports charities and the business community.
The event was held in Broadway, Thorpe Bay on Saturday November 21 and members of the public enjoyed a fun filled evening with plenty of entertainment and Christmas cheer.
Lorette Andrews from the Thorpe Bay Rotary Club said: “It was very windy and too windy for our rotary archway.
“It was a nice community evening and we had a great turn out I would say a few hundred people came to the event.
“We had various stalls with local items on sale and local businesses took part as well.
“The Hallmark card shop were amazing and helped out with printing and the goody bags.
“The Adams Funeral Directors also helped out offering free mince pies and mulled wine. They also opened up their premises to allow members of the public to light candles for loved ones they have lost.
“We were raising money for local charities as well as supporting the businesses in the area.
“We were raising for the Southend Blind Wellfare organisation and the Southend Cystic Fibrosis Association.
“There was a nice atmosphere and it was very busy and bustling.”
