The crash in Western Esplanade
An 80-year-old woman from Southend has died after her vehicle was involved in a collision with a lamp post on Western Esplanade.
The woman, along with a man in his 80s, was taken to the Royal London Hospital following the collision at around 3pm on Thursday, but died the following day.
The man remains in hospital.
Police are continuing to investigate the collision and ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to an officer to contact us on 101.
