A COMMUNITY art project has showcased its work.
The Open Arts Showcase, held at The Beecroft Gallery, in Victoria Avenue, Southend, included a short film about its work and a slideshow of artwork produced by participants.
There was also photos from the courses and art studios over at Hadleigh Old Fire Station.
Jo Keay, the Open Arts project manager, said she was very pleased members had the opportunity to show the community their project.
She said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Open Arts and we are very grateful to Southend Museums for giving us the chance to showcase our award winning project.
“We are also thankful to our funders, artists and volunteers that make it happen.”
Open Arts is a community-based arts project.
It helps people improve and maintain their own mental health and wellbeing through creative learning, social inclusion and self expression.
Everyone involved is 16-years-old and above and has experienced mental health problems or is a carer.
The showcase is running until Saturday, February 11.
