MUMS and their babies had a fun morning discovering sensory play.

The Baby Discovery class, for babies under one-years-old, provides a fun and stimulating environment for the youngsters to learn.

Little ones spent an hour and a half playing with their parents having new experiences by interacting together and exploring.

The session took place at Temple Sutton Childrens Centre, in Eastern Avenue, in Southend.

Zoe Lagden, the Operations Manager for Southend Family Action, said the classes were great for babies.

She said: “Baby Discovery is such fun. It’s a great way for babies to socialise and learn in an exciting, stimulating environment.

“We listen to parents and they help plan our services.

“Parents asked for a sensory play session for young babies and we responded by offering courses, developed by the Temple Sutton Children’s Centre, that last for six weeks.

“They are so popular, Family Action is rolling them out across some of the other eight Children’s Centres we run in Southend area.”

The classes are weekly and the activities are designed to support all areas of development and to motivate baby’s interest to learn.

To end each session, there is song and rhyme time.
