CHOIR
A MEMBER of the Leigh Orpheus choir has stepped down after seven years.
The choir has said a sad farewell to accompanist, Jacky Atkinson.
Ms Atkinson is leaving to take up a new head teacher post in the north of England.
Presenting her with flowers and chocolates, a farewell card and a cheque at her last rehearsal with the choir, the Leigh Orpheus’s chairman Martin Wood reflected on what an important part Ms Atkinson had played in the choir’s development over the last few years.
The choir has appointed successor Kay Duell who is already rehearsing.
