A ROTARY club enjoyed a talk by a theatre group which tackles taboo subjects before donating £500 so it can continue its work.
The Rotary Club of Canvey Island hosted Chris Turner, from the London Bus Theatre Company, to talk about what it does.
Rod Bishop, a member of the club, said: "Chris gave a passionate and informative talk on what the company does.
"It is one of the leading Theatre groups in the UK and provides councils, NHS Trusts, the police, schools and colleges with drama workshops on issues such as bullying, drugs, alcohol abuse and anti social behaviour.
"Following on from making a very successful film called 'Angels verses Bullies' featuring children from Laindon and Basildon, they are currently producing one on
Canvey, with local children.
"The company is looking for sponsorship from local businesses for the production and marketing of the film as they rely on grants and donations to carry out their valuable work."
Following the talk, Club President Malcolm Tugwood presented a cheque for £500 to Chris towards their company's work.
