A FITNESS competition has raised more than £500 for a Canvey children’s charity.

Brett Wash, 41, from Rayleigh, organised the Crossfit competition with Rob King from the Crossfit Rayleigh gym as part of a challenge to raise £75,000 for the Indee Rose Charity, set up in memory of Indee Rose Dopson, who died of a brain tumour aged three.

Mr Wash said: “There was a mixture of lifting, some medicine ball work and other workout elements. There were about 40 to 45 of us taking part so it was a really good turnout.”

The group raised £552 towards a pot of cash being raised by a team of Indee Rose supporters, who will climb seven summits in the Swiss Alps in just five days later this year.
