FURIOUS Ray Preou has released CCTV of his brand new car being stolen from outside his home by a brazen thief.

Mr Preou, 47, of Premier Avenue, Grays, told how the culprit used a handheld device to get inside his keyless Ford S Max and start it up.

The family car, bought just a week earlier, was taken in the early hours yesterday.

Mr Preou has released this footage of a man waving a device near the house in an effort to activate the fob inside the car.

He said: “I could not believe it.

“My wife found that the car was missing but initially assumed I had left it at work. I then checked the CCTV and I am was horrified.

“I think that people need to be aware that this is happening, as I certainly was not aware that people could do this.”

He said that he has now been left without no car and that he is angry about what has happened.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Police were called to reports of a theft of a car in Premier Avenue.

“The 47-year-old victim reported that his grey Ford S-Max Titanium was taken between 11.30pm on Wednesday, March 8, and 7.25am the following day.

“Officers are reviewing CCTV and our enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with information is asked to call Grays CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
