A MAN has been charged after a couple died in an accident in March last year.
Pedestrians Carli Scott, 30, and Dean Evans, 35, both from Basildon, were involved in a collision with a Volkswagen Passat at Roundacre in the town on March 22, 2016.
Ashley Deadman, 27, a welder, of Bostocke Close, Laindon, was charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving and two counts of causing death by careless driving whilst under the influence of drugs.
He is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates' Court on April 13.
