A MAN has been airlifted to hospital after a crash on a busy road.
The man aged 27 was taken to hospital by air ambulance with serious chest injuries after the crash on the A127 London bound near the Noak Bridge junction at about 9.10am this morning.
Police are now appealing for information from the public following the crash.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a crash along the A127 in Basildon at around 9.10am today.
“We received calls that a car collided with a barrier and trees along the London bound carriageway close to the Basildon turn off.
“A 27-year-old man has been taken to hospital by air ambulance for serious injuries to his chest.
“The road was closed to traffic and has since reopened.
“Anyone with information is asked to call Chigwell Roads Policing Unit on 101.”
