SNOOKER players battled their opponents, and the urge to sleep, during a 24-hour marathon match for charity.
Eight players took up the challenge, raising £3,000 for the Adventure Playground for People with Special Needs in Basildon.
Joe Lazarus, the playground's patron and Basildon Snooker Club manager, described the event at the club as "absolutely superb".
He said the funds were especially welcome as the club recently suffered a break-in.
The site provides a play area for children with special needs.
It is in the Fryth and boasts a soft play area, a garden with swings and slides, and hosts Friday night discos.
