BASILDON council’s property solutions team has let ten properties from landlords since May.
The lettings have been part of a new initiative by the council to improve quality of accommodation for future tenants.
At an event at Wat Tyler Country Park, in Pitsea, last month, four two-bed properties and one two-bed were handed to the council.
The council’s housing options manager Jennifer Gould said: “The property solutions initiative is a fantastic scheme. It not only helps private landlords rent out their properties and receive the support and experience of the council’s housing teams but it also helps to find homes for people who might otherwise be living in temporary accommodation.”
