We live close to Wickford station and are plagued with commuters all day, every day.

No matter how polite we are in our requests they alternate their parking, we are met with blank stares, indifference or even rudeness and abuse.

We have had funerals in chaos and ambulances denied access, but the parkers never give a darn.

Ours is a very narrow street. Parking opposite a drive restricts access, the view is totally blocked and without room to turn properly, we have to reverse up the entire street on to the London Road.

We have car alarms going off during the day, cars have been damaged and abuse has been thrown at residents.

The council has been told, but still nothing is done. Maybe when someone is seriously injured, or worse, there may be some consideration given, but what a price to pay.

The infant school has finally got a lollipop lady on London Road. However, cars actually drive around her rather than stop - despite children being on the road.

The illegal parking by the school drop-offs makes total gridlock and cars actually drive on the pavement when the children are comming out of school.

And the best bit? This is all next to Wickford Police Station - and not a bobby in sight. What more can I say?
