RESIDENTS and organisations are opening their gardens to be viewed by members of the public in the annual Canvey Island Charity Garden Trail.

Ten residential and community gardens across Canvey will be opening their gates to the public on Saturday.

Each year the trail raises money for a different charity and this year all funds raised will go to Canvey Island First Responders.

Programmes are priced at £3 each and are available now from Canvey Island Town Council offices, Garden World, GMD Mowers, Canvey Supply, Canvey Island Library and Castle Point Transport Museum.

Each programme allows one adult entry to all gardens.

Children under the age of 16 can attend for free, if accompanied by a paying adult.

Plants, jams, teas and coffees will also be on sale at some garden locations.

Gardens will be indicated by green and yellow balloons as they are in private residential areas.

Last year the chosen charity to receive the funds was Canvey Island MS Club and more than £500 was raised for them.

The garden trail promises to be a wonderful sight as all gardeners have worked hard to get them up to such a high standard.
